On November 14, 2025, a professional development seminar for young professionals on “Lesson Design Using Scaffolding Technologies” was held at Taldykorgan Higher Polytechnic College. The seminar was led by subject teacher Adilbaeva Tolganai and history teacher Askerkhan Madina.
To utilize effective teaching methods in the modern education system, increase student motivation, and facilitate their acquisition of educational material, the introduction of scaffolding technologies (support structures) into the educational process is a key focus. Therefore, the seminar aimed to develop a broad and practical understanding among young professionals of their types, purposes, and methods for their proper use in the classroom.
During the seminar, participants were introduced to the key elements of scaffolding technology—visual supports, guiding questions, orientation templates, level-based assignments, and reflection tools—using interactive methods. Young professionals completed group work and analyzed the role of each tool in the learning process using specific examples.
A distinctive feature of the seminar was its predominantly practical component. Participants were asked to use scaffold models to construct short learning segments, plan assignments step by step, and determine the effective level of student support. This work allowed the young professionals to consolidate their theoretical knowledge into practical applications.
By the end of the seminar, participants fully understood the importance of scaffolding tools in the educational process, their role in facilitating student learning, and their impact on improving teacher teaching skills.
The seminar achieved its goal by increasing the professional interest of young teachers and strengthening their skills in high-quality lesson planning.
