A new Fab-Lab has opened at the Taldykorgan Higher Polytechnic College, unlocking the potential of talented youth and paving the way for Kazakhstan’s engineering future. The project is being implemented within the framework of the 2025–2027 Roadmap for the Transformation of the Technical and Vocational Education System, highlighting the strategic importance of this initiative for the development of engineering and digital education in the Zhetysu region.
Fab-Lab (Fabrication Laboratory) is an international digital manufacturing laboratory format widely used in leading educational institutions worldwide. Now, these opportunities will be available to young people in the Zhetysu region.
At Taldykorgan College, the Fab-Lab operates in three main areas:
- Robotics Lab – developing skills in assembly, programming, and engineering problem solving using NAO humanoid robots and WorldSkills-compliant platforms;
- 3D modeling and 3D printing laboratory – prototyping and creation of digital models using Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Blender programs;
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) Labs – hands-on work with Python, machine learning, computer vision, and neural networks.
The new laboratory provides students not only with the opportunity to study but also to implement their own ideas in industrial and innovative projects. Here, they work with modern equipment, developing engineering, programming, and research skills. Fab-Lab is a space where knowledge and creativity intersect. Here, every student can realize their ideas and transform new ideas into practical results. For us, this laboratory is a true school for future engineers, programmers, and innovators.
